Premier Plan (Platinum)
Premier Plan Highlights
We’re excited to announce new improvements to Georgetown University’s Premier Student Health Insurance Plan that will lower costs for medical treatment while maintaining access to top quality care at an affordable price.
Starting in the 2018-19 academic year:
- Most students will pay 50 percent less for covered treatment at in-network providers, since co-insurance will be reduced from 20 percent to 10 percent;
- Out-of-pocket costs for enrollees will be capped at $5,000 for the plan year, down from $6,350;
- Enrollees visiting the student health center will continue to pay nothing for covered medical expenses, after a small co-payment.
The most generous health insurance plans are rated as “platinum” on the health insurance exchange, followed by gold, silver, and bronze. We are pleased that Georgetown’s Student Health Insurance plan, offered by UnitedHealthCare, will continue to provide “platinum”-level coverage at a “silver” plan price.
