For all students, good health is essential to achieving educational goals. Because maintaining good health requires access to health care when you need it, Georgetown University requires most students, according to registration criteria, to have health insurance. Eligible students are charged for and required to purchase the Premier Plan unless they timely waive with other coverage that meets the University’s requirements. This requirement assures some relief of the burden of expensive health care and instills within the students the lifetime responsibility of obtaining quality health insurance.
